Storie di fantasmi e la fantasma è donna. Come la Maga Circe. Le pendici del promontorio che ospitò Ulisse tornano raccontare misteri, a nascondere tesori, a suscitare meraviglia e orrore. I tempi sono moderni, esistono i cellulari e le donne indossano jeans, stivali neri. Nella terra assolata come un deserto che è la pianura pontina si muovono Elda e Rada. Caffè al bar di Borgo Santa Maria e via verso Sabaudia, su quella striscia larga di sabbia, sotto le pendici verdi della montagna, per arrivare alla villa della Contessa che sembra uscita dal set di un film americano, eppure, chi abita da queste parti sa che è tutto possibile.

In questa scenografia a cui nulla va aggiunto, si snoda la storia fantasy “I Tarocchi della Contessa”, scritta a quattro mani da Simonetta Marroni e Maya A. Marinova. 131 pagine di ritmo ben calibrato, con concessioni al piacere della narrazione che danno colore a tutta la vicenda. Giorni e giorni che passano tra le stanze preziose della villa e le riflessioni delle due donne che ogni giorno vanno e vengono su un furgone, percorrendo la strada dritta, tra il mare, il bosco, i borghi. Luoghi normali per chi ci vive, fantastici, si direbbe inventati per chi non li ha mai visti.

Storia fantasy, ma molto agganciata alla realtà, con un sottofondo poliziesco che aleggia durante la narrazione e un finale fatto da una raffica di colpi di scena .

Una lettura gradevole, non scontata. Un’operazione di scrittura riuscita bene. Se il momento storico fosse diverso, sarebbe da consigliare “sotto l’ombrellone”. Considerato che non si sa nulla circa l’estate 2020, si consiglia comunque di tenerlo a portata di mano. Di occasioni per leggerlo ce ne saranno. Come le loro protagoniste, le scrittrici sono vere figlie della terra pontina. Simonetta Marroni è nata a Latina, ha studiato e vissuto per dieci anni a Londra, poi un anno a Madrid e poi il ritorno. Maya A. Marinova invece è bulgara e da tredici anni vive in Italia. Rappresentano, come Elda e Rada, la storia stessa di una storia antica, fatta di genti che arrivano, che rimangono, che ripartono per poi tornare. Come la Contessa dei Cabassi intorno alla quale ruota una storia esoterica piena di sole.

Coffee at the bar in Borgo Santa Maria and then towards Sabaudia, on that wide strip of sand under the green slopes of the mountain, to reach the Villa of the Countess of Cabassi which seems to have come out of an American movie set, but those who live there know that everything is possible.

In this scenography to which nothing must be added, the fantasy story “The Countess’ Tarots” unfolds, co-written by Simonetta Marroni and Maya A. Marinova. 131 pages of well-balanced rhythm, with concessions to the pleasure of narration that give color to the whole story. Days and days that pass between the precious rooms of the villa and the reflections of the two women who come and go every day in a van, traveling the straight road, between the sea, the forest, the villages. Normal places for those who live there, but fantastic one would say, invented for those who have never seen them.

Fantasy story, but very attached to reality, with a detective background that hovers during the narration and an end made by a flurry of twists.

A pleasant, not obvious reading. A successful write operation. If the historical moment were different, it would be advisable “under a beach umbrella”.
